7 Deadly Sins: LUST
In Dante’s Purgatorio, the penitent walks within flames to purge himself of lustful/sexual thoughts and feelings. In Dante’s “Inferno” unforgiven souls of the sin of lust are blown about in restless hurricane like winds symbolic of their own lack of self control to their lustful passions in earthly life.

Lust does not have to be something sexual, it can be a greedy desire for money, power, etc. It is more on a sexual or greedy feeling. But let’s just focus on the sexual part. The main reason, i think, why Lust is considered as a deadly sin is because people do sex outside of marriage. It hurts God because it shows that we care more about our own lustful desires than Him. Sexual immorality is a temptation we all must face.
Sex outside of marriage is pretty much popular nowadays. Some say it’s already a trend especially to teenagers. They surrender their body to another person as if it is just something that they can easily return after using it.
There are a lot of factors that affect Lust. Some of it are:
Media. They let us view sexual scenes that are not really relevant to the film. Little do they know that for kids it’s like an appetizer that stimulates their desire for more. They believe that they have the right to do whatever they want with their own bodies. It’s called freedom they say.
Curiosity. Because of Media curiosity plays. They ask questions then seek for answers, thus pushing them to do something to feed their minds.
Parents and/or Guardians. Lack of guidance, ah yes. Some people come from a broken family or grew up not having a family at all. They only depend on themselves and they live by their own rules. Which means that they can do whatever they want, wherever and when they like to.
Guilty or Not Guilty: Guilty.
